WARNER BROS LIKE? LOVE! SOCIAL MEDIA
Following the success of The Hangover social media campaign, Daemon Digital (part of Daemon Group) has won a competitive pitch to manage the Like? Love! Facebook community, supporting Warner Bros’ TV on DVD catalogue. The campaign, which launches this week, will focus on building a community of interest for television fans to discuss and recommend a variety of shows across several genres.
Upcoming releases will be promoted through the Facebook page and fans will be encouraged to discuss characters, storylines and their recommendations as well as view and share clips and images from the shows. The TV on DVD catalogue includes titles from the premium programming service HBO and the popular CW network, with fan forum favourites including The Wire, Chuck and The Big Bang Theory.
The Daemon Digital team will be led by Mandi Bateson, Digital Planning Director. Commenting on the contract win, Mandi says: “Recent and upcoming changes to Facebook have put an emphasis on the importance of quality community management to ensure your content receives maximum exposure. With The Hangover we were able to demonstrate the success of digital communications over the “if you build it, they will come” mentality and we’re excited that Warner Bros has recognised that developing a community will help them achieve their marketing objectives.”
The specific tactics of the campaign involve seeding content through news feeds and utilising Facebook’s features and applications to share content and cultivate conversations between fans. Initially supported by a pay-per-click campaign, the majority of the campaign will rely on organic momentum generated by fan engagement. The campaign results will be judged using traditional traffic based statistics together with an evaluation of the quality of conversations and interactions generated.
